Hi Guys,
What is the best way for me to wire a pair of 7" component speakers to my Kenwood Headunit (KTS-300MR)?
Bascailly, I am looking to get the most power to the speakers without using an amp. If it sounds bad, I will probably then install an amp, but with money tight, i want to try no-amp at first.
My Kenwood says:
Maximum Output Power: 4 X 50W
Full Bandwidth Power: 4 X 22 W
The speakers are JL Audio M770-ccx and the specs are:
Continuous Power Handling: 100W
Recommended Amp: 40w-175W
Impedance 4 ohm
I was thinking that if I wire this like my subs (bridged), I could cut the impedance to 2ohm and maybe get more power out of the speakers (making the 22W something like 44W). Would this work? Becuase it's a center console fishing boat, I don't care too much about loosing the right / left effects as using this method they both would be wired to either the right or the left speaker. Positive to Positives, Negatives to Negatives.
I appreciate your help.
Ted
Asking for issues by doing so. Wire them to each separate channel and be prepared right now to add a amp when you listen to the speakers. A small amp even will bring those speakers for life. Do it once and do it right.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
Thanks....Your right, I really should do it right and use an amp.
