Working on an installation in a 22" open bow boat.

Equipment List:

2 Kicker S10L5 DVC 2OHM
4 Kicker KM620's
2 Kicker KMT6's
1 Kicker ZX200.2 (Power For KMT's)
1 Kicker ZX200.4 (Power For KM620's)
1 Kicker ZX750.1 (Power For S10L5's)

The question is can I use something like the Kicker KQ5 for a volume control using the fader? The idea is to be able to control volume on the KMT's separate from the volume on the KM620's. Also if I go the route of an external EQ in an open environment such as a boat how would you approach tuning? Normal test tone CD?

Thanks for any input.

Are you just wanting to turn down the one pair of speakers? If so you can look into Getting one of these.

I did see that. The concept with the KQ5 was to maybe be able to adjust volume of the in boat speakers or the tower speakers independently. Also the ability to have bass control seemed nice. The real question was if the fade portion would work as a VC (volume control) in a 3 AMP configuration.

I am not familiar with that EQ.  If it has a fader, that is what the fader should do.

We use the PAC volume controls all the time in boats. Sometimes we've done one on each pair of amplifier channels.
