I've honestly never hooked one up in a boat, but it seems to me that all the same principles would apply.  Need 12V Constant, 12V Ignition, and Ground, and then your speakers.

Before you judge someone, you should first walk a mile in their shoes. Because then your a mile away, and you have their shoes.

I have done some with constant +12V and switched +12V ran directly to the positive side of the battery, and ground to the negative side, If done like that, you have to turn the radio on and off manually.

I have also done some, depending on accessories, by getting a switched +12V from another accessory, and that will work, And in some newer boats, even though there is no HU installed, in the fuse panel you have terminals for a HU.

Hope this helps. Good Luck with your install

just did an install in a 19' Sea Ray this weekend....same as a car except i ran power AND ground right from the battery for the amps. Power to the HU came thru an Aux switch on the dash switch panel... quite simple actually
