I have never used MTX marine subs...... are they worth a darn?  If YOU had to choose a marine sub, what would you use?  OR would you NOT use a marine sub. (wich is my favorite idea)

Alpine PDX power for everything.

as much as I am not a fan of polk, most of their subs have marine grade cert, better than the mtx co-axials that I have heard.

i do believe he asked for a sub... so nice to have your questions read..

the latter is what i do.. any sub--no marine... marine stuff is not all they claim...

Hey bink.... speaking of NOT reading.   Mr. pump said "most of their subs have marine grade cert."posted_image

Man just relax, don't let that controversial t-tap thread get ya all wound up. Breathe deeply......

Don't worry bro..... I still care!posted_image

The boat will never see salt water.... so this tiny bit of educated input does push me in the intial direction I was headed.

Thank you gent's.

And don't forget to make your sub boxes with resin. Inside and outside. Nothing like a wet mdf box.

We sell MTX and POLK AUDIO and I always try to do the POLK AUDIO in a boat if I can because of the Marine Certification. They will last longer and sound as good as most of the 'other' brands. The "MARINE" subs I have tried don't seem to have the response I want. Even after break-in they seem too stiff.

Have a Great Day!
