1999 Mercedes S430,

2 pin plug.

Power on one side and ground on the other  - to go up

Ground on one side and power on the other - to go down

How do I immitate this action using a relay?

Feed from antenna out on radio to 86, ground to 85, 12v+permanent to 87, down wire to 87a up wire to 30.

The above pic was drawn for another application     Substitute the Positive from brake switch with the power antenna wire of the deck.

Sorry I missed the whole point, first the factory antenna would have had built in relays, second you would need timers such as as 508d set for 4 secs, thirdly the last post is correct but I would substitute 2 x 508d's to stop overun when most has extended or retracted.

The antenna in that car has limit switches mounted internally.  Their purpose is to prevent overrun.

Overland, in my picture, the left (To Motor Wire) has 12 volts on it when the radio is switched off.  The right wire has ground on it.

Yes but are we talking about the factory original? That used 2 relays and a timer circuit and it was always going wrong, replaced with a single 528t (not as I said earlier a 508d posted_image) N.B. I think the limits were imposed by the timer, no mechanical limiter, thinks yes 2 relays required it's what DEI call a 5 wire solution but unlike door locks you need to hold on for a few secs each way, look add a thermal load cutout and you've just built a window closer!
