came across one of these units, it states "automatic" on the outside of the box (2wss-as) but the brain has a CM3000M sticker on it.  Also, on the diagram sticker on the brain, there is a white rectangular sticker that covers the info on cutting the jumper wire to make the brain auto vs. manual.

When I cut the jumper wire, installed it, it's giving me a remote-start error and 7 flashes --> reservation mode off (installing into an automatic vehicle).

Any ideas?

M - manual
A - auto

here in canada, compustar has 2 seperate units for auto or manual. In the states, all compustar are compatable for both. cutting jumper cable will determine tranny of car. I beleiveif u cut the wire, it will be manual. Uncut is for auto. can some1 confirm? thanks

Well, I cut the jumper wire, and after the wire harnesses are hooked up, and 2-way keyfob is paired successfully -- I get:

Error 7: Reservation mode off (for manual transmission only)

Then I look on the brain and see the CM3000M ... i've been reading that now they're shipping brains that are PRE-programmed by compustar for auto or manual, yet the jumper wire is still in there and it does nothing (for safety purposes) .. any truth to this?

And for those who know, can I still use this CM3000M brain ( the one that I cut the jumper wire in, yet still think its a manual brain) in a manual tranny vehicle?

Thanks for the help guys

I would contact Ray in tech..... amn that sounds screwy.......... I'm fixin to jump on with Compustar, 40 miles up the road... very convenient (spelling)?

Thes kinds of stories make me wonder..... Can't be any worse than the new DEI of Canada (Astrostart) the first product guide they sent out after the "marriage" had an entire PAGE of errors attached to it. This should have been that, these should be those..... etc. etc. etc. dangposted_image
