I will be doing a remote start in this vehicle. I will be installing a DEI unit. A couple of quick questions. do I really need to connect up all 3 ignition wires on this car?
Thanks,

That all depends on what you want to work during the remote start process. since you are replicating what the key does by adding the remote start I would say the answer to be yes you should power all 3 ignition circuits if no other reason than you may want to add other options to the system later that require the power such as a defroster or radio ect.

remember...Friends Dont let friends Install, Take it to a pro..
The only thing im worried about is the blower motor for the heat and AC. Also I have 2 differnt tech sheets and one says this car has the Vats system and the other says Passkey III. Which one is true?

Look at the key. Resister or Pill looking thing in the middle is Vats, PK3 or some sort written on the keys is Passkey III.
What I tell some of my young grasshopper.
If you have 3 ignition, power them all up! Test them! If they are power up when starting with a key, you want to do the same when starting the vehicle without the key. Wiring an extra relays( 86 ground out when running, 87 to +12V, 85 to ignition )15 minutes at most. Trying to figure out why some dash indicator lights are up and running a week after the install is done. Priceless! You do the math on this.

Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it.

The Century does not have three ignition wires, only two. They both must be powered.
There are also two accessory wires. Only the orange is necessary to power up the climate controls during remote start. The brown powers the radio, and isn't needed.
The Century has VATS, not PASSKey III.
2 ignition wires. one is Pink other is White.
as Chris mentioned, there is 2 accessorie wires. only use the Orange for climate/heater blower motor. Brown is for radio, not required. I have passkey1 or vats system. Umm just a question. if ur MECP, shouldnt u know if doing a remote start, connecting all ignition wires is criticle or the car may act up on you. just a though. make sure u test all ur wires with a DMM. the tech sheet is not always right, it helps locate wires, but not all are 100% correct
Well I know on a few cars that I have seen people do they dont use all 3 ignition wires. This is actually the first car that I came across with this, hence the reason I ask. its nice to know it only has two which makes it that much faster to install. Funny how I have 2 sheets that show 3 ign wires for this,
IGN 1 PINK
IGN 2 White
IGN 3 DK Green
Accs Brown
I always meter my wires first but it just makes it that much easier to have a head start on the wires before you tag them to meter them.
