Just installed an Avital 4200 on my 2002 sierra with 6.0.  when using the remote start the fuel gauge and tach do not work on the cluster everything else works fine. when using the key everything works. I used the lt. blue wire on the dr.side valve cover connecter as my tach. any suggestions. was wondering if there is a wire i could use on the back of the cluster for a tach. thanks

Are you sure that you powered both ignitions and the orange accessory wire? If it is the newer 4200 did you power the RED / white in addition to the two reds?

If you have all of these connections made I would suggest making sure your 4200 is powering each wire correctly by testing them with your DMM.

The DEI manual needs to be updated to reflect that it is no longer an optional connection. The RED / white is now mandatory. It used to be optional because it was jumpered at the XCRS. If the vehicle you were installing the system on required more power you would cut the jumpered RED / white insert a fuse holder and fuse then power it separately. The new design of the system eliminates that jumper and includes the fuse and fuse holder, but the manual has not been updated to reflect this change.
