You will need a passlock 2 bypass.

PASSIVE ANTI-THEFT YES PASSLOCK 2   SEE NOTES
12 VOLTS Red Ignition harness   +
 IGNITION Pink Ignition harness   +
IGNITION 2 White Ignition harness   +
 ACCESSORY Orange Ignition harness   +
 STARTER Yellow Ignition harness   +
KEY SENSE Lt.green Ignition harness   -
TACH SIGNAL White at coil on top of engine   AC
 LOCK Lt.blue In driver's kickpanel   +
UNLOCK White In driver's kickpanel   +
DOORPIN Purple At light switch harness   -
 TRUNK PIN Common with doors
TRUNK RELEASE Black At release switch in dash   +
 FACTORY DISARM See notes
If you are doing remote start only, the factory alarm will disarm automatically when the ignition is energized. If you need to shut off the alarm when connecting doorlocks, please see our diagram called 'ALARM BYPASS ON THE 1999 YUKON DENALI & ESCALADE'.
BRAKESWITCH White At switch above brake pedal   +
PARKLIGHTS Brown or Blue At light switch harness   +
HAND BRAKE Lt.blue At plug on handbrake lever   -
HORN Black At steering column harness   -

PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle is equipped with GM's new PASSLOCK II system, a fuel cutoff system that you must bypass for remote start. See Diagram. The truck's 2nd ignition wire must be connected or the check engine light will come on and serious transmission damage may result.

Great information, thank you. I am having trouble locating the "alarm bypass" Can you direct me on how to find that link. Also, it says see diagram for the passlock II installation. Please excuse my ignorance on these installations but I am really wanting to attempt this myself.

What is the exact make and model of your system? This will help determine if you need any additional relays.

You will need a bypass of some sort, whether you attempt to make one yourself with resistors and relays or use a module. My bypass of choice on these trucks is the GMBP from bypasskit.com. It is a piece of cake to install and bullet proof. Just constant hot, ground, ground when running, and one connection to the purple wire at the OBDII connector under the dash. You can check out the installation manual here. There are a lot of options out there for bypassing Passlock II but I have found the GMBP to be the easiest, especially for someone who is attempting a DIY installation without much experience.

Thanks for all this great information guys, its really helping out. Specifics are as follows; 1999 Cadillac Escalade, with factory alarm, power locks, rear hatch, etc. The system I'm installing is a Python 881xp 2way alarm with remote start. I understand the use of the GMBP bypass and have one on the way already. Is there any additional steps to bypass the alarm system, door locks, rear hatch? I also have a DE 529T module for automatic window controls, which I'd like to use to roll up all 4 windows when system is armed, if possible. Any more help is greatly appreciated here.

I am going to attempt the installation this weekend, i think I have everything needed. One more question though. With the 529t, will I be able to roll up all 4 windows, or just the front 2?

Thanks for your help. Well I'm into the install and things are going well. I have 2 questions if anyone can help

the door pin switch on my excalade says purple at light switch. I cannot get a ground at that location, switch on or not and door open or not.

Also, on the alarm, it has install for white blue to activation input, what is that line for, it shows a push button switch that is grounded, but does not specify what it's actually for?

Well, I have spent several hours today getting this install completed. 99 escalade and python 881xp. Having some issues and really need some help here. first off, I had a problem figuring out the door trigger. No purple at the light switch. Hooked green line into door switch on driver side, and alarm was freaking out, clicking constantly, lights flashing etc. only stopped when i unplugged remote. So I figured it was positive input, put the purple+ on it and nothing happens. Any ideas on this problem

2nd question. dam thing just doesn't work right. hooked locks up with 451 de relay, white and lt blue in drivers kick panel, ground white and brown and purple to 12+. locks freaking out, intermittent, constant locking etc. I'm tired and this thing is kicking my butt, any help here would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone, please help. My truck is tore apart in my driveway and I cannot figure out what is going on here.

latest update. I had it working fine for a minute, but then it reverted back to constant flashing led, lights, and every minute or so, it would lock and unlock the doors. constant clicking from brain controlling everything. posted_image
