Well, I got my RS working finally, BB swapped out the brain and it seemed to help a lot.  I am still having a small problem though.  On occasion when I try to RS my 2003 Jeep Liberty it starts and shuts right down, does not try to restart, just shuts down.  I checked it the other night and it is giving me the 4 flashes for Transmitter Shutdown (or optional push-button).  I do not have a button, do not push any more buttins on remote and no PATS system in the jeep.  As far as I can tell the hood pin switch was never hooked up (still starts with hood open).  All connections look solid.  Is there anything else I should be looking for, and ideas on what else it could be.  The unit is Viper 160 XVL.

Thanks,

J

I know what the diagnostic is, that is not what I asked. And I have already been back to BB 3 times, it is an hour drive and I am sick of them.

you sure it has no pats system, I would bet it does..sometimes it will remote start if you try and start it right after you remove the key, fooling the installer into thinking it has no transponder, in short, try starting it with the key in the ign.

Positive, no PATS. It starts fine 95 percent of the time, just those occasions that it starts and shuts back down right away.
