I am installing a remote start on a 2001 Grand Caravan and I see references to the Directfax 1083.  I did a search on this forum and cannot find a copy anywhere.  Does someone have a copy of this.  Trying to install on wife's van for Christmas  :)

Thanks in advance for the help

Mike

1083 just explains that you need to provide the PURPLE / brown wire in the van with negative through 180ohms resistor during crank.

I upped Audiovox's version of this tech tip to the downloads section: here. I am not really sure why they want you to isolate it from the switch. DEI does not say you need to isolate it in their tech tip 1083. I do not recall ever needing to isolate it in that van.

I've never isolated it either.

With Audiovox product, I just connect the BLACK / YELLOW "pulse during crank" directly to the PURPLE / brown in the van, and that works fine.
