Hi

I had an interesting problem with an '07 Hyundai Entourage van the other day. I installed an AST 1280 R/S system and used an Idatalink CANBUS door lock module.

Everything went well until I went to remote start the vehicle. This is what happened. The van was locked, I pressed the keyfob button to start the vehicle. The vehicle started and a few seconds later the door locks unlocked. I'm thinking where is this coming from? I unhooked the door lock outputs from the R/S and it still happened.

I called Idata tech. The ran me through some different things to try. Still no soution. I told Idata I would try something else but would have to call them back. I decided to unhook all but the raw essentials from the R/S. I was down to the lights and noticed the problem went away. Hmmmm was it some kind of problem with a ground leak on the wire or something. I decided to start the vehicle with the R/S and just ground the blue parking light wire from the switch and see what happens. The doors unlocked again. This is a good time to mention about the van having auto headlights. I turned the switch to "off" and the doorlocks were fine. I hooked up the R/S again and it was fine too. But when the switch was on "auto" the doors would unlock again.

As it was getting late and I had to get the vehicle back to the owner I had to let it go and tell her what to expect. Don't use the "auto" lights and the doors won't unlock.

Has anybody else run into this issue on these vans? This is a first for me. I've done the '06 Hyundai vans with no problems but this van seems like it's wired completely different from those. I suppose the next thing to try was open the "auto" position on the light switch upon R/S with a relay and see if that helped. I did call Idata and told them of my findings and they were just as puzzled. I suggested finding a way to activate the parking lights using the CAN system if that was possible.

These new vehicles are really getting quirky with all the new stuff the factory keeps adding.

did u accidently use the pulse after start and wire that to the idatalink unlock? it could be possible that it is a programming related issue.

Maybe break the "autolight" wire with a relay triggered with ground while running. (headlights)

yellow/black (NEG)- behind the cluster.

i think KarTuneMan is right. I have only done a parking light break or isolation on a Toyota Camry wipers and headlights. im sure this is the correct way of doind the "continuity break." if im wrong, plese do correct.

85 - ground out when runing
86 - constant 12v
87a - auto headlight wire (switch side)
30 - auto headlight wire (headlight/car side)

Thanks next one I'll give it a try. Sometimes when people ask me how long I'll need their vehicle I should tell them a couple of days. 3 hours to do the actual install 5 hours on hold with tech and another day or so to implement the resolution.

I myself, have only heard good things about AST's tech....wow. Sounds simular to DEI.......Please hold, your call will be answered in the order it was received. Your estimated not working, wasting time, unproductive, getting more PO'd by the second wait is, 3 hours, 56 minutes.

This has been MY experiance with DEI tech.
