hi im trying to install a Prostart CT-3310 Remote Starter/Keyless Entry in my 01 Honda Civic. Ive checked the wiring info for my car from the ProStart website but have a couple of questions.

1) There are two red 12V wires coming from the moduel,(labeled: "12V (Battery)" and "+12V (Battery)") do i hook up both of these to the white wire in the ignition harness? or just one?

2) How and where should diodes be used? and what type of diodes are to be used?

1. Yes, use both and hook them to the WHITE wire

2. No diodes required for remote start on this vehicle.

thnx alot:). another question tho... i got these diagrams from the prostart website

Door Lock
Trunk Release

the first one is for the door lock wiring and the second one is for the trunk wiring. i know my trunk wire polarity is + and the polarity from the moduel is - so i need to use a relay to invert the polarity.. but there are two diagrams.. ones for 'regular trunk release' and ones for 'multiplexed trunk release' im not sure which way i should wire it? and second for the door locks, do i need to use relays? or do i just wire it directly? and if i do have to use relays wich way should i wire it (Negative system or Positive system)?

you will be using the regular trunk release.

85 - aux or trunk release
86 - constant 12v
87 - high current 12v
87a - trunk wire switch side * wire will be cut*
30 - Trunk solenoid

as for door locks, they trigger by a negative pulse. so the prostart should have negative outputs for lock/unlock. take those wires and go straight to the lock and unlock wires. that will control the factory relay. no relay needed.

thnx tedmond,
a few last question before i get started

1) so for the trunk ill need TWO 12V sources and i also need ONE for the transponder bypass and TWO to go to the starter module. that makes 5, but im not sure where i can run these from. is it safe to run them directly from the white wire in the ignition harness? or should i run them from the battery? and how should i wire them (fuses or diodes to be used?)

2) on the printout for the wiring from ProStart it says
Function Color      Location        Polarity
PARKING BRAKE     GREEN/ ORANGE     AT FUSE BOX     -

i am not sure which wire this connects to on the module. the only one i think it might connect to is the orange wire from the 12pin harness. on the schematic its labeled
"(-) Neg. Parking Lights" but im not sure. the full schematics can be found HERE

all the helps greatly appreciated guyz thnx posted_image

1)Solder the two 12v wires for the r/s to a single wire attach the single wire to the white wire in ign harness... after the fuses(closer to the module) solder  1 12ga wire to 1 of the 12v wires and a 14-16ga to the other 12v........the 12ga wire will run to pin 86 and looped to 87 the 14-16ga will be for your transponder bypass

2)It appears the remote start is for an automatic trans. so parking brake is not a necessary connection as well as the unit appears to be set up to activate "either" + or - parking lights an option older units didnt have so MY opinion would be the orange wire will be depined and not used

hey im having some trouble hooking up the transponder bypass. i cant seem to get the ignition switch opened to loop the coil around it. iv gotten the steering column cover off and one bracket off the ignition switch but i do not know where to coil the wire for the bypass because there isn't enough space. any suggestions??

Bring back the universal bypass module and get a Honda specific bypass module instead. This way you don't loose a key and retain the immobilizer's security. Also, the connection is only 5-6 wires depending on the module that you get. Very simple and easy to program as well.

true... but i went to futureshop n they said 120$ for the bypass... thats kinda expensive plus i cannot return the one i got so isnt there a way to get this one to work????

The problem with the universal bypass modules is that is has to induce the signal into the loop of the OEM transponder, not around the transponder. You will need to somehow wrap the wires behind the OEM transponder ring in order for this to work. Also, $120 for the module is robbery ! We sell the keyless modules for the Honda for 1/2 of this

okay now im really confused... if you go to HERE it says that the parking light connector is RED / black and the trunk trigger is blue/black, but the wiring info i got from prostart website says that parking light is RED / yellow and trunk release is YELLOW /GREENposted_image . so what to do??? these are the only 2 wires i cannot locate
