Hi all,
Just tried to program the unit. I THINK I have the correct wire, it's tan with a blue stripe, got it coming off the upper left (looking at the rear) of the fuse panel on the driver's side....can't really be sure it's dark blue and not just blue...any way to test to ensure I have the correct wire?
The unit won't light solid to indicate that it's learned the vehicle. I did note that the instructions state that it may be necessary to cut the wire. Can anyone confirm that this is true in the Liberty? I'd prefer not to have to cut and splice the wiring back together if at all possible.
you did not mention what you are trying to find. parking lights?
you wire have to wire up a relay to prevent backfeed on the headlight switch. you unit offers postive parking lights but your car is negative. wire up like so.
85 - ground
86 - parking light output from 456
87 - Ground (high current) with 910 ohm resistor inline.
87a - cut parking light wire, connect from Lamp Switch Side.
30 - to parking light wire (end that is cut)
you will have to cut the parking light wire regardless unles you dont care about the lights.
Parking light (-) - Pink/Red @ fuse panel.
Sorry, can't believe I didn't mention it....my face is red...
Unit is a DEI 562T, and I am trying to hook up the 456L module to control the single wire door lock/unlock. I can't seem to get the unit to learn the lock/unlock...I assume I either have the wrong wire, or the signal is too weak and I need to cut it then splice it per the 456K's directions.
For the parking lights, I believe the unit can do either negqative or positive...I swapped the jumper to the negative position, so I should be just fine not cutting it, correct? It's a 2007 Jeep Liberty.
if you have selectable polarity for parking lights, switching to negative will also work. to be honest, i have never used those fancy units that configure your lock system. i dont trust them. i have never used one so i cant really help u on that one. sorry.
your unlock/lock wire is correct.
