using a ultra start and alarm 2270 with a can-sl2i bypass. along with wire magic's starterenabler (2 relays and a 1290 resistor between the pink/black wire). i can remote start but the truck says service veichle security then i put the key in and it goes away as soon as i touch the key sence with the key. then i can drive it and try to remote start and the starter flashes telling me there isnt a tach signal. i restart with a key then it will remote start. please help...

For the new GM's use tachless and set starter for 3 seconds.

From different installers I've heard that the tach signal is not that great on the CANSL-2 modules. Use tachless first as this is a quick test to see if it's the tach or the starter bypass. ------------- Jeff

well i just went out and undid the tach wire so it will voltage sence. i was testing and i can remote start it a bunch of times as long as the dome light stays on before it dimms out. if i start with a key let it sit for 2 mins it wont remote start, why? the lights kick on so dose the fuel pump but the security light dosent come on like that shut it off.

well i dont know if the can-sl2i will work for my silverado newbody. it will remote start every time with the key next to the key cylinder. or will remote start within 2 mins of starting with a key. i dont have a cansl2 onhand and it is 5 days to get to me...

2007 Chevrolet Silverado New Body Note(s): Firmware 12.0 or newer
Do you have this version or not ?
Also, it states in the instructions that everytime the CANSL-2 is disconnected, the vehicle has to be restarted with the key.

nope my distributor sent me the SL2i and i figured out earlier today it was the WRONG bypass. the sl2i dosent have the transponder bypass and that is the part i need. my distributor asks for make of veichle then sends what i need, i told him a 07 silverado newbody. the sl2i sheet says 07 silverado but probly the classic which dosnt need the transponder. wized me off i had to unhook the double relay and resistor for start and the connections at the green bcm plug because the new one states connect ONLY at the keybarrel connector. i almost totally stopped doing starters this yr and kept my focus on high end audio(parttime shop i have). i only do starters and alarms for family, close friends as of now. it is hard to keep up on all the new veichles these days. i wanted to keep my winter alittle more open for snowmoible season because last yr i got stuck working while family and friends were out having fun. thank you for ur help and wish you and ur family a fun and safe new yr...

LOL, I hate it when that happens. Think that the supplier gets you the right stuff and then find out afterwards that it's not Have a happy new year and don't drink and sled. ------------- Jeff
