i have just installed a new in box clifford G5 intelliguard 770. the dealer that i bought it from told me that it doesn't come with a proximity sensor. so i bought one but the problem is that i followed the instructions and the sensor is not working. the omnisensor works and so does the acoustic mic that it came with but when i disconnect those two and just leave the proximity it doesn't do anything at all. i tapped it , i threw it around the car, and still nothing. the alarm doesn't even chirp. i even used an old one from my old G4, and still the same results. i was wondering if anybody else had this same problem with this alarm or is it that the alarm brain is no good.

I'm not familiar with those alarms, but does the prox sensor work with the other sensors still plugged in?  The only reason I ask is because they are all sensing completely different things so I'm not sure what the significance is of unplugging the other sensors.

well the thing I've tried again this morning it seems to be working when it is outside the vehicle ( hanging outside the door with the window down) but when i put it back in its hiding place in the middle of the automobile it doesn't do anything and this is with all the sensors connected. what i am going to try to do is take the proximity sensor to the dealer and see if the new would work. maybe it could be the sensor itself is bad from factory. i have heard of these things going bad from straight out of the box.

Not to ask a stupid question but have you adjusted the sensitivity of the prox they don't come preset out of the box. They usually take about 15 min at least to perfect the sensitivity

To adjust the proximity sensor it is done from the remote,it is totally driffent from adjusting the omni sensor,i have a clifford 850 series install manual that i use to adjust the  wen i get to work on wed ill post the procedure for you later that night.

Also you you can use a 508d proximity sensor and wire it in at the glass breakage mic wiring, there is extra wire there only problem is you have to adjust it manually. And this works great even better than the clifford sensor, this is my prefered method.
