I have recently installed aftermarket(SPAL) power windows on my 2003 silverado. The installation went smoothly but the instructions did not identify where to get Ignition on power to connect to for power to the units. Can anybody help direct me where to get this power from? I currenly have it attached in the fuse panel on the drivers side of the dashboard on a pin where it appears that a connector or relay would be installed. I blew a 10 amp ignition fuse while testing this. I am not that familiar with the layout of the electrical system in this truck. If anybody has a wiring diagram or a schematic that would be helpful.

If it were me I would get power from the battery and use a relay to make it operate only when the key is on. This is how you should wire the relay. Power from the battery via a 10 Ga. wire with a fuse holder and a 20 amp fuse as close to the battery as you can get it, to connector 30 on the relay. Power to the window kits are to connect to 87 on the relay. Ground terminal 86. Connect the switched wire you used from the fuse box to terminal 85.

Tho you could use a relay and go to the battery in this truck like Spal wants, i have done hundreds of them and have always used power from the ignition switch. It is at least 30 amps which is plenty. I use an accessory wire, brown or orange.....

Same as Mike M2 here.
In front of the driver's knees, remove the two 7mm bolts and pop off the plastic panel. Usually the metal clip on the left side stays on the car.....you'll easily see what I mean....just pry the clip out and reattach it to the dash panel that you've removed.
Behind that, four 10mm nuts for the metal knee bolster; remove that.
Right there, coming down the column, you'll see all the heavy-gauge ignition wires together....the wires you'd use to put in a remote starter or alarm.
The brown wire has power in Accessory and Run, while the orange wire has power in Run only.
The orange wire would duplicate factory operation, but you could use hte brown wire if you want to be able to operate the windows while you're parked, with the key in the Accessory position.
