Hi all,
I am new to the forum. Well actually I have been a lurker for a while and thanks to this forum, researching my first remote start install was nice and easy. So I just want to say thanks to all who contribute to this great place.
So I do have a few questions regarding my system. First the basic info you all need:
Vehicle: 2007 Chevy Sivlerado Classis. Crew cab. LT trim package.|
Alarm: Ungo SR6000
Interface: DE 1700G
1) When I remote start the vehicle, the doors unlock and the vehicle starts. I assume the shock sensor is bypassed as it never seems to trigger from it but the doors will tirgger the alarm. Is there any way to program the unit to keep the doors locked?
2) It would seem that the temprature sensor for the units cabin temperature feature is way out of whack. It reports temperatures that would indicate 70ish and above when I know it is damn cold outside (30s) So the cabin temp must be close to those temps if the vehicle has been sitting around a while. I have the trasmitter antenna mounted high thinking that it houses the sensor for temperature. Can anyone confrim the location of the temperature sensor for this unit?
3) Is there any way to program the unit to lock the doors without arming the alarm? It would be nice to hit the lock button once just to lock the doors and then hit it again to arm the system, Right now it locks the doors and arms the system at the same time.
1. It sounds like you hooked up the factory alarm disarm wire to the drivers door unlock wire of the 1700G. The 1700G will disarm the factory alarm when remote starting via the status input wire. If you want to retain driver's door unlocking priority you would need to connect the blue negative unlock wire to the driver's door unlock wire of the 1700G and the second unlock output from the Ungo (light blue H2/1) to the all door unlock input of the 1700G. When you press unlock the first time the driver's door will unlock and when you press it again within a few seconds of the first press the remaining doors will unlock.
2. I am not really sure where the temperature sensor is on the DEI brains. To be honest I have never come across one that read that far off. I have come across some that are 5-7 degrees off from what other thermometers have read, but never that far off. May be a defective part?
3. No, the alarm arms with lock on the first press. You can delay the arm status, or put the system into and out of valet mode via the remote but there is no way to have it arm with the second press of lock/arm.

i see what you are syaing about that factory alarm disarm wire now. i guess the system is trying to shut down the factory alarm and in turn unlocks the doors.
i am a bit confused about the door lock wires. the wiring diagram for the alarm shows the blue wire to be - + and the green wire to be + -. so what is the polarity of the wire? is there a way to program the polarity that i am not seeing? the instructions are pretty vauge on this matter.
so should i use the green wire to the unlock wire on the 1700 and the blue wire to the lock wire on the 1700? will that keep the doors locked during remote start?
thanks for your help dude. it is much appreciated!

It is both.
The unit 'flip flops' the polarity, when it is locking the green is negative pulse and the blue is positive pulse, when it is unlocking the opposite occurs. You only need to concern yourself with the negative outputs. So green is lock, blue is unlock, just ignore the positive pulses.
You should use both the first and second unlock outputs from the Ungo to the 1700...this way you will retain driver's door priority unlocking. The unit has the capability so why not use it. I explained in the earlier post how to hook the Ungo to the 1700, follow those instructions and you will be good to go. First press of unlock will disarm the alarm and unlock the driver's door, second press will unlock the remaining doors just like the factory remote does.
