I am actually interested for two installs:

DEI 562T in a 2007 Jeep Liberty

DEI 561R in a 2005 Dodge Ram

What are my options for using the OEM lock system to generate a pulse to trigger a remote start? I've read on here that the lock actuator will work. Is that a "+" pulse there - if not, can I use the WHITE/ blue "-" input on the starter? Is there anywhere I can tap without having to pull the door panel off? Maybe a leg on the lock relay or something?

I'm just looking for options so I can pick the easiest one to get this darn thing working. ;)

Thanks!

Why do you want the oem keyless to trigger an aftermarket remote starter that have remote??

Well, for me, I prefer my OEM fob over the RS fob. The main reason is that my RS fob only uses 1 button for lock/unlock. I prefer to have separate buttons, which my OEM fob has.

For me, it's because I am having a heck of a time with the liberty's door locks. It's freezing outside, and neither the relay nor DEI module are working. My thought is if I can connect one more wire to have it all run off of my OEM fob, that'll hold me over until spring when it's warm and I have more time on my hands.

Additionally, Jeep uses the integrated key and fob, which I do not like. I have a cut, working sentry key that I'll eventually use when I get the RS unit to perform all functions of the factory fob.

What you're trying to do atrus, can be done. I've done it on many installs to give customers an extra option to remotely start their vehicle - some don't care and some like it a lot.

I don't think you'll be able to use the (-) multiplex lock wire from the switch, which in any case is not activated by the keyless entry remote.  Use a lock motor lead which will give you a (+) pulse when locking, either with the key or the remote.  On the 561R you can hook that directly to the WHITE/ red (+) activation input...the 562T will need a relay to convert it wired as follows:
85, 87 - ground
86 - lock motor lead
30 - (-) activation input on 562T

I don't have positive info on either of the lock motor lead colors, but most Chryslers the lock is going to be ORANGE / black or ORANGE / purple - it'll be going into the door boot and pulse 12v+ when the car is power locked.

Incidentally - what don't you like about the integrated key?

The (+) lead on a 2005 Ram is LG. :-)

So, the wire is just located within the boot going into the door? No need to actually get to the lock motor?

And, the reason I don't like the key is just how big it is. It's not like a life or death thing to me, I just prefer the grey-headed key and DEI fob personally. Plus, the range on the DEI will be far better. But yes, for this winter, the activation input would be great!

Thanks for the info, I truly appreciate it!

I actually removed the door panel to narrow down the search, since there are probably 25 wires or so going into the door. There were just a few wires going to the actuator, so I tested a few and found it to be the LG for lock. I tapped into it on the big connector under the dash.
