Hello, I am installing a rs unit and I am trying to find the neutral/park switch in the vehicle. Might anybody know which wire that is.

There is a park neutral ground switch on the rs unit that wont allow it to start unless the car is in park or neutral.

If the car is an automatic transmission, the neutral saftey wire is connected to make sure the car will not start in gear..some older cars can start in gear even though they have automatic transmission.

You can test you car by putting the car in gear and seeing if the engine will try and start. (MAKE SURE YOU PUT EMERGENCY BRAKE ON AND PRESS BRAKE PETAL AND NOONE IS NEAR THE CAR!!) if it starts you need to find a wire off the column which goes to gound when the selector is in park and neutral only.

If your car will not start in gear, just connect the wire to ground.

The car might start in gear.. but it sure as heck won't shut off and allow you to take the key out. I just don't understand why this NSS is needed.

There are very few R/S on the market these days that NEED to be connected to a safety, or an "in park" signal.
