I have installed a remote start on my truck. It works great, but I am having trouble getting the bypass to program. The bypass I have is the xko5-pkt2 made by Peripheral. I have the chassis ground, 12 volts, imi, imo, and the (- out when running) all hooked up. I am also pretty sure I have the right data wires for the truck because the truck will crank but not start with the wire cut that I have hooked to the bypass. I am sorta stumped by this. If anyone has any info on this I would sure appreciate it.   Thanks in advance.    Brian

Everytime you relearn the module you have to reset it. To RESET, press and hold button and plug in module. LED comes on. When LED goes off, release button.

Also, TACOMA V6: Wiring can be found in position 15 and 16 (PIN 15 instead of PIN 26 and PIN 16 instead of PIN 27). This connector is located behind glove compartment at ECM.

All that Jeff said, plus you didn't mention the blue ignition input wire from the XK05 being connected?

Thanks for the replys. I am not getting the red led to light up during pogramming. I do not have the blue ign. wire hooked up. The instructions didnt show it hooking up. That very well could be my problem. I quess it would be a good idea to hook up the green(-) oem security light turn off wire also. Thanks for the info guys. If someone could just let me know about that ign wire I will be set. Thanks a again.     Brian

The ignition wire is mandatory, it needs to be connected.

Even with the 12 volt constant wire? Not doughting what you are saying, I have just never seen a bypass that had two 12 volt inputs on the unit. Brian

That would be how it senses when key is turned on to program unit on some bypasses. The XK05 is what we use at our shop and I have done a few Toyota's that require to run bypass to behind glove box. You might have the IMI wires reversed. Violet and violet/white may need to be swapped. Test and reset before trying to reprogram.
The security light green wire should be hooked up and the blue wire to ignition as well.

Did the remote starter get tach programmed or is it on voltage sense? Check that and make sure it is set up correctly.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya

Thanks for the info. I will hook that blue ign. wire up tommorrow. (I did have to run the wires to the ecm behind the glove box.) I will let you know how it goes. Brian

Thanks for the info guys. Just hooked up the blue ignition wire and it programmed up the first time. The directions given with the bypass do not show hooking that wire up(for the Tacoma) Thanks again.   Brian
