hi all,

trying to install a remote start in 04 jetta with factory locks and alarm. I am using a Omega RS-3A start unit and i purchased a Omega IM 510 door lock and bypass  module. I need some help with the wiring. I have the remote start wired in with the exception of  the pink wire which says goes to alarm or keyless entry. I am not sure where that  wire goes. Also the instructions for the IM 510 suck and am not clear on how to hook  that in at all. I was told you have to put the key in the box although it doesnt say that. The instruction sheet for that says platform #01 VWDL (door lock control).  The door control module on this car is in the drivers door. Will i have to tap in there?  Any help would be appreciated.  thanks  Mike

If it's a Mk IV, use a 556UW from directed, will need key, discard it's antenna and use the scheme for European cars, wire alarm directly to to lock/unlock wires in door, externd time on lock wire for total (comfort) close, the only way to shut down factory alarm is to KILL it, find contol box under dash, cut indicator wires (BLACK/ white and BLACK/ green) cut siren wire, (BLACK / YELLOW I think,) cut ultrasonic wire (coax with 2 inners and a grounding sleeve). Recognising the key, the remote start will therefore not trigger the alarm.
