Hi all-

I just put a code ca680 into a 2006 chevrolet Silverado.

Significant problem:

When the ignition has been turned on to run (not accessory) and then turned back off, I see a quick spike in voltage on the door LOCK output.

This momentary spike is triggering the xk01 to locking/arm factory/etc when ignition is turned off. Not good.

The question is – why? Unfortunately the only thing I can think of is bad alarm. The lock/unlock wires are on their own little plug in harness and right now it comes from brain to my meter.

Any ideas why this would be happening? I’m stumped and have never seen this before.

Thanks

forgot to add that otherwise alarm/locks work as expected when arming/disarming.

more experimenting/info:

1) the spike actually happens when the key is brought back from run to accessory.

2) the problem goes away when alarm is disconnected from pink (ignition 1)

the unit probably has the IGNITION CONTROLLOED LOCK/UNLOCK feature turn on. This is avail on many units. when your inside the car and you place the key into ignition, it will lock doors, when you have driven to your desitnation and you take the key out, doors unlock.

the unit does have this, but i turned it off in the programming (so i could use steering wheel controls to edit lock/unlock ignition settings). but even so, im not sure why that would do it since the lock does not happen when i insert or turn on the key; it happens when i go from run -> accessory.

yea it happens only from run to acc or vice vers. are you sure you have programmed it to off and saved the settings?

thanks for the replies tedmond. i just verified twice that the ignition locking / unlocking is turned off in the programming.

after more wire checking and metering, this is basically what it happening: i disconnect xk01 and put my meter on lock output from alarm. when i arm i see 12v - for half a second or so; all normal. when i turn off ignition from run -> accessory (or off), i see ~3v - for half a second or so. this is triggering the xk01 to lock doors/etc.

im stumped.
