I'm putting in a Prestige alarm into my 1993 Ford Mustang, bu I'm having trouble with the door locks.  I have both + & - lock/unlock  wires but I don't know what type system I have other than "C"   Do I have any relays already in the car that i can tap into, or do I need to install other relays?  I'd like to use the power hatch release too, but I beleive that  is a + trigger and all I have is a - connection, I'll need to use a elay to convert that I think.  Any help would be great.  Thanks in Advance,  Drew

Hey Drew,

The locks in your 'Stang are definitely type "C"   A.K.A. Five wire reversal requiring two relays.  Yellow/Pink and YELLOW /GREEN are the colors in either kick. The hatch release is a positive trigger on a Purple / YELLOW at the switch. Go to RELAYS menu of this site for reversal and positive trigger ideas. posted_image

But are they + or - triggers on the door locks?

Hey  drewmon13,

They are positive trigger but the wires have to be opened with a relay before sending the positive pulse because the wire rests at ground and this is why we call it a 5 wire system.

First of all you'll need two relays then click here https://www.the12volt.com/doorlocks/page3.asp and look at the 5 Wire Alternating 12 Volts Positive Door Locks guide to figure out how to do it.  posted_image
