What did you "try" to install?

Is it for a manual transmission? or an auto?

If the unit you are installing is manual safe....you don't need a neutral anything....posted_image

I am installing the RS-727LCD autopage.  This is my 1st time install on the manual transmission and I don't want to start in gear, if I know the neutral safety wire, that will make me feel alot better !

Thanks,

Can you post a link to the install manual by chance? Autopage's website is only showing the operations manual.

Reason I'm asking is because your PT cruiser may not have a "neutral safety" wire specifically but if I look at the manual I could probably tell you what you need to hook up to make your install work safely.

The 727 is not designed for a manual transmission. I ran into this problem yesterday, so I have to get a different unit. I will only install the manual transmission versions for other people.

I have in install pdf file, but I can't post it due to my web hosting being down for the next 2 days.

Ok...judging by that diagram, unless there is a wire loop to cut, a jumper to move or a programming option to work safely with a manual trans., that RS should not be installed on the manual trans. car in question.

You may want to get a 689m by DEI which will help put remote start into ready mode only when you do certain things with parking brake and activating remote start and getting out of car and then shutting door in a certain manor so you can remote start it after without it being in gear.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya
