2002 VW Passat with the crazy flipout key/keyless module all in one.

I am using a 556u is that the bypass i should be using? Now i understand that i need to obtain another key from the owner is that correct? Does it have to be the exact type of key? (ie the flipout key with remote?)

Just get a valet key from the customer.....you then have to use the wiring diagram on the manual for the 556u that states "will work on european vehicles"...using the ring around the factory key cylinder will give you a weak signal. Using the method shown on the 556u instruction manual will give you the most reliable signal. Don't use a remote key.
