Hello All,

starting to get back into the swing of things so please bare with me. I will be doing a RS on a 2004 Buick Rendevous. I will be using a 561R along with the 1700G. My question is I looked in the wiring section and did not come across one for the 04. I looked at the one from 02 - 03 and the one from 05 and i do see some slight changes. Was wondering if someone can help me out with the sheet on this one. Also when I searched out some things on here I see that one says to use the orange wire as the acc. and not the brown and some say to use the brown and not the orange? Any ideas as to why this is.

Wire diagram the same as the 02/03 and use the ORANGE wire for ACC because this one powers the heater fan. BROWN wire does radio, windows & wipers.

Also there are 3 ORANGE wires in the ignition harness, use your meter to find the (2) constant ORANGE wires and the other ORANGE wire will be your ACC.

Actually, you MUST power both the Orange and the Brown as accessory circuits. If you don't power the brown, the cluster will illuminate the check engine icon after a minute or two. It is also crucial to only use the negative parking light wire. If the positive one is used, you will cause the cluster to illuminate a trouble code.

I just did one yesterday morning and I didn't power up the BROWN wire ( just the DARK GREEN) and I didn't get any errors that you mentioned & customer hasn't mentioned any codes showing up on the dash ( yet ). I'll have to see if this is the case because I've done 4-5 Rendezvous vehicles this season and I have not powered up any of the BROWN 2nd ACC wires in any of those previous vehicles.

The (+) parking light wire can be used if you use the one at the BCM. Pin-B3 on C1 connector and the wire color is BROWN. Using either one is fine but it's easier to grab the (-) one at the back of the switch or if your already running wires from the BCM you can grab the (-) park lights there as well in pin A6 Light Blue wire.
