building a 37 ford for a customer, with 350 chev, yadda yadda, and it has a stock 1 wire push button starter  that he wants to use, any way to use this , i will be using a reg key ignition but he wants to retain the stock push button start. i want to go to a 2 wire button but he wants to use the original any ideas thanks

If it is a one wire system you should be able to wire it to a relay and make it a 'two wire' switch.  I'm guessing the other side of the contact is the metal body that the switch is in? 

If the frame is (-) grounded then the output will go to the (-) side of the relay coil.  If the frame is (+) grounded then the output will go to the (+) side of the coil.
