I just purchased an Amenity Pro-Start 3300 alarm/remote start/keyless entry combo and I'm going to install it on my '92 Nissan Pickup. First off, I'd like to know if anyone knows whether Amenity Pro-Start and Autostart ProStart are the same company?? I have found a website for Autostart ProStart and it says they are out of Canada, but my "Amenity Pro-Start" alarm box says they are out of Iowa. I can't seem to find any information online about Amenity Pro-Start, and the 2 companies have different tech support numbers. Also, the ProStart website does not feature my model (the Pro-Start 3300); the closest they have to it is the ProStart CT-3300 and they have an online manual which is not the same as the manual I have. The manual that came with my alarm is VERY vague and I don't think it's going to be very helpful at all when I try to install the alarm. Does anyone know anything about this company? Also, does anyone have any tips for me before I try to install this thing? Anything concerning my specific vehicle? Oh, and one more thing, where is the best place to mount the shock sensor? My manual didn't even mention it..................any help would be greatly appreciated.

I dont use that line of unit, I use the Omega line. They are really easy to install. They are based in GA. They also have a great tech dept. You can mount the shock sensor on a flat surface like the firewall make sure you dont drill into anything behind the wall. Always check and double check. Make sure it is not on a surface that will absorb the vibration as it travels to the sensor. ie: a large wiring harness under the dash. sometimes you dont get the sensitivity that you would like to have. If you need any wiring info let me know. good luck, david ------------- Good Luck

They are different companies. This is no doubt the site you found?:

You may have purchased the unit from here though and these are the same units:

I have never actually seen a good manual tailored for the first-timer. I can understand your concern though since the manuals do not give much as far as suggestions on how to do things. This is always a good start: here are the wires you will need to look for on your vehicle:
ITEM | WIRE COLOR |POL| WIRE LOCATION |
| 12V|WHITE/ black |+ |ignition harness |
| STARTER|BLACK / YELLOW |+ |ignition harness |
| SECOND STARTER|BLACK / YELLOW |+ |ignition harness |
| IGNITION|BLACK/ white |+ |ignition harness |
| ACCESSORY|BLACK/ blue |+ |ignition harness |
| POWER LOCK|BLACK / YELLOW |- |driver's kick panel |
| POWER UNLOCK|BLACK/ red |- |same |
| PARKING LIGHTS +|pink/blue | |steering column |
| HEADLIGHTS|RED / grn,RED / blk(L,R)|+ |steering column |
| DOOR TRIGGER|RED / black *1 |- |left A pillar |
| TRUNK/HATCH PIN| | | |
| TACHOMETER|white | |lg. conn. by dr. kick |
| BRAKE WIRE|GREEN/ YELLOW |+ |at brake pedal switch |
| HORN TRIGGER|lt. GREEN/ black |- |steering column |
| WIPERS|blue/red |- |steering column |
| LF WINDOW UP/DN|blu/blk - blu/red |A |either kick panel *2 |
| RF WINDOW UP/DN|blu/yel - blu/wht |A |either kick panel |
| LR WINDOW UP/DN| | | |
| RR WINDOW UP/DN| | | |
Notes:
*1 some models do not have a factory pin switch installed on the passenger side. *2 the drivers window wires run out of the drivers door to the power window amp in the passenger kick panel.
Feel free to ask any questions you have.
