trying to hook up my doors for a mazda 2004 rx8 and have a couple questions

1. I hooked up my door looks as instructed. Have negative pules (1k resistor for lock) when i hit my button on my remote the horn honks 1s for lock and twice for unlock however the never actually lock or unlock the door.

2. I want to run tachless however i am unsure how to do this. (rather run a tach wire if someone knows where exactly this wire is.

2004 Mazda rx8 and Python 100xp.

Try using a relay for the locks.

Will the python do tachless?

Are you sure you have the correct LIGHT GREEN wire in the drivers kick panel?

For the tach, use any wire at the coil packs other than BLACK/ WHITE, BLACK or WHITE/ BLUE.

im almost positive i have the right wire because if i ground that wire the doors unlock. but when i hook up the relays, it does the horn hooking thing.

Yes that alarm has tachless.

Your horn honks....and you don't have any connection to your horn?posted_image  Where did you get the lock wire?

Testing by grounding a wire is not really the way to do it.  Get a DMM and turn the key in the door.

How do you have your relays wired up?

Power Locklt. green-driver kick, door harness
Lock is negative trigger thru a 1,000 ohm resistor. Unlock is a straight negative trigger. MUST use relays. Also found at the keyless control module above the passenger side kick panel.
Power Unlocksame as power lock wire

i have the light green wire in the drivers side panel. The horn is hooked up, parking lights, remote start, LED, antenna, etc. all but the tach and door locks. hit lock it honks the horn once and unlock honks twice but no doors. have a resistor on the lock wire as stated by StealthES.  no clue????

Are you wiring the lock unlock wire from the remote start directly into the lt.green wire? You Have to use 2 relays., If you have 2 relays who do you have them wired up?

i would assume that you did plug the ribbon cable into the brain correct? I would double check the output of the brain to make sure that you have 12v constant on the red wire, and ground pulses in the blue/green during unlock/lock accordingly. Is the fuse on the violet/black blown? Also, put your finger on the 451m to make sure you can physically feel it click when you press the lock/unlock button. I would also temporarily disconnect the green wire w/ the resistor and just leave the unlock hooked up to verify proper functioning of the r/s and 451m.

something else you can try is to run the violet/black to its own seperate ground. It is very rare, but I have had some cars that if I simply tagged into the r/s ground it wasnt getting quite enough of a ground...but by giving its own ground, it fixed it.

run the green wire and resistor directly to the vehicle's door lock wire.....  i would assume the way that you have it spliced into the blue wire may be causing some interference with the 451m.....  just a thought....

if at first u dont succeed........ lower ur standards
