Has anyone installed aftermarket door lock actuators in 2008 Honda Civic? These have cables and was told that it is best to use oem ordered in actuators which are expensive.
Is there anything aftermarket made for this vehicle or any suggestions will be very much appreciated.
Thanks

A company over here called WOLF market kits for (UK) Ford Fiestas and Escorts which had cable operated locks. You might try them and modify them for your vehicle, I've done that with a Mazda people carrier. Basicly you cut away the outer, grip the inner then secure the outers so they don't move.

i dont know if it will work on your car, but where the cable connects into the actual lock on the handle, there is usually a small piece of plastic. Depending on how much room you have, you may be able to drill a small hole in the plastic and bend the actuator rod at a right angle into the new hole. Just be sure that you dont drill too close to an edge because the actuators do have quite a bit of power and may break the plastic. I have also seen some people strip back the protective shielding to expose the actual cable, and attach right to the cable.

The install bay makes cable lock kits I don't know if you have any suppliers but a company called importel sells them.
