When my fiance bought her car, it had an aftermarket alarm in it (skytec 5100RS). I have the same car as her (hers is 04 cav mine 02 cav) so I went and bought the same exact alarm as her though its an asianwolf 8000RS. I went over her alarm system and found that her orange wire was not installed. That orange wire is armed output - 500 mA. It says when armed  this wire provides a ground output to activate a relay for starter defeat and anti grind protection. What exactly does that mean?    I also am in the process of installing a glass break sensor but combine it with my shock sensor. I have that post in another topic. I want to get one of those anti tilt sensors but not sure where to put it. I dont want to tie it into the shock sensor for 2 reasons. 1. When the car is remote started, the shock sensor port is bypassed. 2. I am able to disable the shock sensor port on days when its very windy. I dont want my tilt sensor to be disabled at all. Now I do have a wire for postive door trigger which is not being used. Would I be able to use the positive door trigger though the trigger on the sensor is negative? Im thinking I can but just need to use a relay to convert polarity. If this is possible, I would just use the "convert polarity" diagram you have on this site  correct?

The topic was supposed to say "some questions on my alarm". Dont understand why the middle part was left out.

Ok... "that" orange wire would be connected to a relay. First you will cut your starter wire..... Orange wire-pin 85 pin 86-Ignition. (solder a wire from your IGN. wire to pin 86)pin 87a will be to your KEY SIDE starter wire and pin 30 will be your STARTER SIDE of the starter wire and your remotestart starter wire.(PIN 87 is NOT used). This will  (when programmed to be starter kill) when the system is armed Energize the relay IF a start attempt is made not allowing the starter to engage. If programmed to be Antigrind this will then do the same thing when remotely started.(relay will energize when the car is started by remote not allowing you to "Grind" the starter)  If it is a good alarm/remotestart system it will do both features and as for the Q about the positive door trigger and the tilt sensor you got it just reverse the polarity from the sensor and solder solder solder

For the tilt sensor I'd recommend you hook it to the (-) trunk or (-) door trigger, since it's already putting out a (-) output...all you need to do is diode isolate it from the door or trunk.

alright as civic mentioned the relay just reaks continuity on the starter wire so you cant start when the car is armed.

85 - Ground When Armed.
86 - Constant 12v
87 - N/C
87a - starter wire key side (towards key cylinder)
30 - starter wire motor side (towards engine bay)

if i remeber properly, the asianwolf (like scytek) they have individual ground when armed and ground when running.

if it does have 2 sererate wires for GWR and GWA, diode isolate both wires and connect both to 85, cathode band towards alarm. This way, it acts as a starter kill so no1 can start the car when you arm and also prevents starter grind when you have remote started the car already, cuz some people forget that the car is already running...

I thought that is what that orange wire did. I have not had any problems with grinding the starter while it was RS. I do have a diagram in my manual on how to set up the relay as well. I dont think I am going to install it since I never grind my starter while its running and I also cant see how someone can start my car while its armed. Now my fiance has the same exact car and alarm. I used her car as a guide when I installed mine. Her orange wire is not installed either. She has problems accidently grinding the starter. Here is what my manual says about the orange wire:   Orange wire: armed output (-) 500 mA. The orange wire provides a ground output while armed to activate a relay for starter defeat and anti-grind protection. Here is what my blue orange says:   blue/orange wire: ground when running output (-) 500 mA. Connect to an optional factory security bypass module if required. I do have that wire used for a bypass module. I have the DEI 556L. Now I need to ask a few questions. The orange wire only gives a ground output when armed so therefore that wire has nothing to do with anti grind protection while the system is remote started correct? Because when you disarm the car then, that ground is then gone. So I dont understand why that wire is used for anti grind protection. I think I shoud use the blue orange "ground when running" wire instead. When my car is remote started, there is ground current going through that wire for my bypass module anyways. The only problem is, would that then affect my car actually remote starting? Understand what I mean? The blue orange wire will prevent anti grinding, but at the same time prevent my car from remote starting, I think. Im just alittle confused on how to do this.

You may be able to just use the (-) orange wire for your starter kill relay - I think on Scyteks that will output while running as well as well armed, however I'm not positive. The manual is kind of vague and it's been a while since I've done a Scytek RS/Alarm combo.

It won't cause any problems with remote starting as long as you connect your (+) purple starter output from the remote start brain to the starter wire on the starter motor side of the yellow starter wire on the car(which you're cutting and wiring to the relay).  If that wire were connected on the key side, it naturally won't remotely start - I've done this more than once during an install.

If the orange ends up not being active while running, you can hook up the blue/orange with diodes as mentioned above - I would try it with just the orange first however.
