Help!  I have a 2001 Ford Focus that is in antitheft mode.  Is the procedure for disengaging factory antitheft the same as GM's?  I have the key in the ignition cylinder in "run" with the door open.  Will this get the car out of antitheft?

What you need to do is cycle the key in the ignition once and remove the key. Now reinsert the key into the ignition again and cycle the start once more and this time it should catch.

Turns out the coil pack was weak and it had failed.  Put a new coil in it and VROOOM!  Found that I had no secondary voltage at any of the plugs but there was plenty of voltage to the coil pack.  Oh well.  Live and learn.
