Sorry for the long post

Installed a Viper 5900 SST with remote start in Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab.  Everything worked fine...remote start...doors...flashing parking lights.  It does not have the "grey key" or required bypass to remote start and run.  It does have a factory keyless entry system but not the full factory alarm.  I have two questions: 1) Originally, I wanted the Viper alarm to perform the same functions as the factory keyless entry system did when locking/unlocking the truck.  It would lock doors, flash parking lights and honk horn...then when unlocking flash parking lights and most importantly turn the cargo light on (made it easy to find in large parking lots after games).  From the available wiring diagrams, the doors can be locked/unlocked from same wire with two different resistors (relays) or by using the wire labeled "factory alarm" arm/disarm(relays).  I tried both methods and both would lock and unlock the doors but the wire labeled" factory alarm"  would not flash the parking lights, honk horn, and cargo light.  Ultimately, I used the standard door lock/unlock wire and wired parking lights separate.  Is there a way to duplicate what all the factory keyless entry does without having to wire each feature separately (parking lights, doors, horn, cargo light)?

2) At first the parking lights worked fine, did it through the light switch but did NOT use a relay to isolate even though diagrams say to do so b/c of rest resistance ....I hooked it up and they worked for a month or so then just stopped flashing but rest of alarm worked fine.  Another 6 months go by no problems except no flashing lights then the other day the alarm stopped working all together...any ideas why?  Did I burn the brain unit up?

Fix your parking lights (do it the correct way) If your unit has a horn output, hook it up. Your gonna hate it, it's a longer pulse than the factory horn honk.... it will be a loud honk everytime.posted_image

If your unit has a domelight output, connect it to the yellow on the light under the dash. It's (NEG)-

KarTunMn - Thx for the help

I take it by your post that every feature (parking lights, horn, cargo light, etc) does need to be operated sepately by the alarm (i.e. channel).  After I made the post realized, the horn could be programmed to make an output for arm/disarm; so i'll see how this works.

Just like any car's dash lights when turned all the way up the interior light comes on in addition to the cargo light in the truck bed.  Any ideas on getting this to turn on when disarming...not sure if grounded through resistance or what.....I can try and pulse out the wires from back of switch using my meter but my only thought on how to do this.  Any ideas?

Also, eveyone on this site refrences the standard auto relay (single pull single throw) any issues using double or triple throw relay (as long as its a 12v coil) for the windows to reverse polarity to the motors or do other operations
