hi guys, i was just wondering if i can connect the arm and disarm wire to the lock and unlock relay? they both have a positive trigger. Disarm would require a single pulse and unlock would require a double pulse. Thank you.

That is correct BUT if your alarm can be programed for double pulse, then you wont need a relay

use a relay to convert the polarity.

are you installing a remote start? or an alarm? because i havent seen an alarm that asks for a handbrake connection.

hi again, i just ran into a situation, the disarm and arm output from the alarm/starter are the same as unlock and lock (unlock requires a double pulse) if i hook up the arm output and the lock output together and the same for the disarm and unlock output, would i need to use a diode in two of the wires to prevent feedback? they are all (-) outputs from the remote starter.. and the door locks are (=), i will be using a relay. Is it easier to convert the polarities of the output?

**edit "door locks are (+) polarity

you will for sure need to convert polarity for your locks.

ok because i'll be using a relay for the lock and unlock wire. but should i also use a diode?
