I have purchaced mars omega 10 add on remote start and xk01 bypass. Havnt got them yet. Would like to use original remotes for 2005 gmc sierra four door truck. I wanted the window roll up feature of the xk01. The heated seats, defroster and heated mirrors would be cool also. I have installed four remote starts in the past. This is first on newer data vehicles. The BCM has -negative triggers for doorlocks. Is this the prefered conection for the remote start - trigger? Can the BCM - doorlock triggers be hooked to the xk01 lock unlock inputs? Any input for these questions would be helpful as the xk01 isnt specificly designed for add on remote start . I called omega. The tech said it would work. Just would not use the xk01 lock unlock input. Wich brings another question. I would guess programing the xk01 could be done by grounding a lock input.

Well as far as I know those newer gmc trucks have data door locks so they wouldn't really be anywhere for you to tap into aside from going into the door for your activation input wire. As for your xk01 you then should only need to hook up the 12 volt, ground, ground out while running and your data wire I believe and that should work fine. Good Luck

The wiring diagram shows lt blue lock wire - pin B5 and white unlock - pin B10 at the BCM. I was hoping i could use these somehow. If not. What are your thoughts on using the horn or parking lights as a - trigger for the remote start?

You probably don't want ot use eithier of those seeing as if you ever honk the horn a few times it could very well activate the remote starter. Also is your truck a base model? If so those wires that you mentioned will be at the bcm and you should definately use them. What can you the activation input to? How many pulses?

To be honest. I dont now what base model means. And i havnt taken the driver under dash off yet. to see what is there or not. I figured there was some sort of trigger at the door lock module. I want to start with unlock on the key fob. It has driver door unlock priority. The second touch on remote activates the rest of the doors and the horn lightly honks as confirmation. Each time i touch the remote unlock the door unlocks click and horn beeps. The omega 10 start has two selectible - triggers. One or three pulses. I thought the horn would be a consideration to activate the starter. The remote unlock would half to be pushed three times if the omega was set to three - triggers. You say :As for your xk01 you then should only need to hook up the 12 volt, ground, ground out while running and your data wire I believe and that should work fine. Not puting any negative door lock /unlock input to it. How would the windows roll up on second push of remote lock? Through the data wire?

Mainly There is two things i am having trouble in my mind with. Add on remote starter does not have lock and unlock outputs. But the xk01 bypass has lock and unlock - inputs. By not using the inputs on the xk01. How does the features of xk01,windows roll up and seats now to work. And of course. The best place to put the start - start trigger.

if it is a base model and you have the blue and white wires @ bcm, the will not trigger from the remote only the switch

The best thing to use for the trigger start will be the locks and for heated seats it will be done through the data connection at the obd plug

--The BCM hasn't had the blue and white doorlock wires since the 2002 model year. Except maybe on the cheapie trucks that have power locks, but no power windows.
--The wire you want is the "lock motor" wire, which is the wire that goes to the power doorlock motors.
You can find this inside either front door, or probably inside the truck either at the base of the B pillar, or in the rubber boots that feed the wire into the back doors.
This wire will test as positive when the doors are locked. If the Omega doesn't have a positive activation input, you'll need to use a relay to invert the positive of the truck to a negative.
--The XK01 will automatically turn on the truck's heated accessories with remote start, whenever it's 32*F or lower.
--Yes, you could manually ground the green and blue wires of the XK01 to reprogam its option menu.
--I can't think of any way to get the window rollup feature to work with what you have. You need to somehow supply two negative pulses to the XK01's green wire.
Actually, come to think of it, I guess you could, as mentioned above, use a relay to invert the truck's positive "lock motor" signal to a negative, and then feed that to the XK01.
However, not only does your factory remote honk the horn when you lock the doors twice, but the XK01 honks too.....so you're going to have a lot of honking going on there. But you could always turn off the honks with the buttons on the steering wheel, if you have them.
--Unless you're really enamored of the appearance of your factory remote, or you got that remote starter for nothing, I don't see much reason to install it that way.
The XK01 will do almost everything the factory remote did. Two-stage unlock, panic, domelight turnon, factory alarm arm/disarm, perimeter lighting.........the only thing it doesn't have is separate Driver 1 and 2.
Using a system with aftermarket remotes, you'll end up with an install that'll probably take half the time, with much greater range.
On the other hand, if you don't mind a challenge, I think what you want to do should probably work.

I could make this much easier on myself by putting in the correct remote start. I only paid 30.00 for the add on start. I do have steering wheel controls. Could turn off the horn and parking lights. The horn would be honking its guts out. I didnt think about the honk honk start vehicle and honk honk again. I wouldnt like that. I downloaded a 2005 diagram from this site. It shows the blue and white wire on bcm on base model trucks. But dont really now what a base model is. That leaves the door lock motors. I was hoping something easy. Like the bcm or door lock module to pick up either a neg or pos trigger. Then it could be taped into the xk01 green wire for the double pulse lock window roll up. I do have my eye on a crimestpper rs830 remote start. I just never liked the looks of after market remotes. Espesialy having a truck with a remote that has a trunk of car on one of the buttons. I soldered a two inch wire on my factory remote circuit board and have about 200 ft range. That is plenty for my purposes. But i am leaning more to a new remote start now to make it easier. That way when i get under the dash and start conecting wires. I would have a choice. I have driver one and two memory on the door. Even the remotes are marked 1 and 2 on the back. But the memory doesnt work from the remotes. It doesnt have that feature on the dash to program. Dealer said it wanst on this model. Strange because it has everything else. You guys are great. Thanks for all this very usefull info.

Well i put an ultr remote start in. All doors work fine. Windows roll up with send lock of doors. It starts fine. Heres the but. When i shut it down with the remote or it times out. The dash lights and radio stay on. When i open the door or lock the doors. They turn off. I did not hook the horn up and on my truck. The dash light is on,so programming the starter is dificult. I count the clicks on the control box. I think i have tried all three lock settings. It has something to do with retained memory,i think. 2005 gmc sierra 4/door ultra start U1270TL , interface XK01. any suggestions.

to shut off the radio after run time you need to pulse the drivers door pin with a rearm pulse and that will fix it

That took care of it. And i didnt half to take the door panel off. After taking out the door pocket. Next to the light. There was a wire bundle. I pulled it down a little bit. Cut into gray/black wire, tested for ground. There was enough room to get my hand into the door to fish wire through rubber boot between the jam and kick panel. Thanks again
