My car is a 2005 dodge neon with a 5 speed transmission.

Can i connect the CN3 #9 Yellow/Bk engine sensing wire to the alternator? My car doesn't have a tach wire. On the manual it says learning tach/Injector wire and right under that it says Alternator sensing. Does that mean I can use a tach wire, injector wire or an alternator wire for the engine sensing?

I appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Dave

You can use an injector no problem if you use alternator sensing you must program it to accept it

How can I find the correct injector wire? Do I need a test light or a voltmeter?

Thank you for your help.

voltmeter for sure. set it to AC, and test your wire by placing black to ground and red to the wire you are testing. the wire will show anything from 1v AC - 6.6v AC. it always fluctuates

The correct injector wire is the wire that is not common, the injectors will have two wires, one wire will be the same color on all the injectors and the other will be different, use the uncommon color. no meter is necessary.

Did you change the setting of the CN3 #9 Yellow/Bk  for engine sensing, otherwise it still set for tach. You  have to change the setting. You're better off just going to the injectors like everyone says.

If you still rather do Alternator sensing you have to change Option group 2,   2-10 to option 2.

why do you say your car has no tach wire?? There is no coil on the top of the engine??/ injector wires are not as good as a tach.

No, I didn't change the setting of CN3 #9 Yellow/Bk for engine sensing.

How do I change the setting to make it work with the injector wire?

BTW can I connect a tachometer with a shift light on an injector wire?

Thank you everyone that has reply.

I dont see why you couldn't. I would just connect each to their own injector though. As far as to change the options, I have a programmer so I'm not sure how you would go about doing it without it. Just go to the injector.

Once conncted start the car with the key, step on the brake, activate the remote start from the control your lights should blink to confirm that a good tach has been learned.

On the back of the third page of you install book it tells you how to change the options through a control. Looks like a real PIA though.

Engine sensoning is the tach setting config?? Tach sensing and injector sensing would both require the starter to be set on engine sensing config, give it a shot if the relay clicks when you push the button on the module your good to go.

Yes, I believe he's connecting at the alternator. He would have to change that setting to option 2

for me the easiest way is to find two injectors. connect your yellow/black wire to the wire that is not the same between the two injectors. then follow the procedure to learn the tach signal as previous stated. if during the learn process you get more than one click. you dont have a good tach signal

I connected the Yellow/Bk wire to an injector wire and pushed the button on the brain module. The siren chirp once, so it worked. Thank you guys.

I put the car in reservation mode. I pressed on the brake, activated the hand brake and removed the key from the ignition switch. The car reamain running for about a couple of minutes. I try to start the car with the remote but it doesn't crank. It opens the ignition switch to ON but it doesn't crank the starter. All I hear is a click from the brain unit and it then closes the switch. It does this 3 times.

I connected the CNI # 6 Yellow starter wire to the starter side and the yellow w/ the black line to the switch side.

ON CN2 # 5 RED / Bk (-)Starter Output where does it connect to?

I just realize that I need a clutch bypass. Can anyone please help me find one or can I make one?

does your vehicle start without pushing down the clutch? if it doesnt  then there should be a switch near the clutch

Use the 2nd starter wire(-) from the unit, remember to place a diode inline. Wire that wire to the one that goes to ground when the clutch is pressed down. There is a harness in front of the clutch that has 2 wires.
