Ok i have a list of problems whilst trying to install 2006 Ford Focus 1.8tdci LX: 1. Wont unlock or lock car proply(inconsitant) even thou it is connected to unlock/lock wires and then to ground 2. Car wont remote start at all, everything comes on like lights and dash but then it just goes off after about 5 seconds and then it sets of alarm saying a door is open when its not? Any idea of wire colour for wait to start?? I can test wires as there all in a casing!

What bypass module did you use for the PATS bypass ? For the locks, did you solder or use connectors ?

This is bypass unit i am using: https://..co.uk/dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=360011648862&ih=023 And this is alarm i am trying to fit: https://..co.uk/dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=150196354755&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=005 So how do i go about splicing the wires then for testing???? I just put the ring from imob bypass around ignition barrel as it states in book! Another thing is if i switch engine on with key and then remote start while engine is running i can remove key and engine will carry on running for about 7seconds before shutting down!

For the locks i used connectors to splice alarm wires in to existing lock wires

Try placing your key into the ignition and remote starting the vehicle with the key in the ignition ( just in the ignition but do not tuen to ON position ). This will tell you if it's the bypass or the RS system. ------------- Jeff

Ok i tryed above but car will not start! Any ideas how i test tach wire?? also what wires would stop rs working?? brake wire, tach wire??? what about door trigger wires as i have not connected these yet as im not sure how to as diagram says there are 4 wires for my car and i must diode them but i cant find any of the wires!

you will only diode isolate the wires if your doors have individual triggers/pins. now, it might not remote start because of usaully 2 reasons. The hood pin is constantly on ground OR the ebrake wire is not grounded. Look at the 7P connector and ground the BLACK/ WHITE. You can only GROUND this ebrake wire if the car is an AUTO ! if manual go buy a manual safe unit. i have installed these units befor and no offence but they are crappy. oh well its a fairly good unit for its price.
