What system are you installing?
I have done a few of that series Ford trucks and have not come across one with a transponder. If the key looks like this then it does not have a chip in it:
As far as the tach reference is concerned here is what Audiovox lists:
"ON DIESEL TYPE TRUCKS TACH WIRE COLOR IS LT.GREEN / WHITE LOCATED BEHIND FUSE BOX UNDERDASH. THIS WIRE IS TAPED TO THE SIDE OF THE MAIN HARNESS NEXT TO THE AUX. TRAILER HARNESS. WIRE HAS HEAT SHRINK ON THE TIP."
I would try that before using any type of tach generator.
