My car battery (mostly) died on me.  I say mostly b/c there was just enough power to run the internal lights and to run the car alarm siren very quietly when Iopened the door.  jumped the car, charged the battery. But my problem now is that my remote wont turn the alarm off. I've actually had to totally unplug the black box in order to shut the alarm off.    Anyone know how to fix this?

There are a couple of things that come to mind for me. The first would be that the alarm simply locked up when being jump started and simply disconnecting and reconnecting it would put it back in working order. From the sounds of your post though you already tried this with no success.

It is possible that something inside that brain got cooked when the vehicle was jump started, although unlikely, I have seen this with the older alarms. If you had the system professionally installed the shop that did it should be willing to take a look at the system for you at no charge. They could then determine if the system needs to go to Alpine for repair or not.

If you are not the person that had the system installed you could try contacting your nearest authorized repair center and see what they have to say. The one closest to you would be:

J.L. Electronics Services

Hope this helps
