Hi! I posted this question back in 05 when i bought the car, found little on the subject. There is a little more today. I need to know what bypass module to buy to make remote start work. I guess any remote start is as good or do someone have a good suggestion to what brand/model works best. Would like to integrate with onboard keyless entry. I do not have factory alarm. Only keyless entry and start blocker.
many thanx in advance!!

Stateside equivalent?? sorry dude, u lost me there... i am after all, from Norway... what do u mean? Diesel should not mean more than to get the glow signal. Used to have remote start on my previous 95- suburban diesel. worked just like magic..

Stateside equivalent = what they call that vehicle in the United States. U.S. Citizens (which happens to be a large part of this forum) have no idea what an "X Trail Diesel" is. I am just trying to find out what kind of a vehicle you have, so maybe somebody here can help you.

Use the iDatalink or Fortin pieces for bypass and make sure that you use the BLACK key and not the RED key when programming. I suggest using Compustar system and have the delayed start on the diesel. If it's a manual transmission as well, the clutch bypass is (-) trigger. The vehicle is very basic and easy to work on seeing that all the vehicle outputs are at the BCM below the glove box on the driver's side.

Thanks Jeff, have found a supplier of compustar. And for other X-trail Owners: From Directed electronics : through this site i found the best suitable module https://www.xpresskit.com/index.aspx , just choose vehicle and there it is.. Will combine this with the 2WSHLED-AS and i think it should be all right. One Q though.... what does BCM stand for? is it Basic Control Module maybe... tried a search, but did not find answer. I belive it's the box where all the cables run through right.
Anyway! Thanx alot for help, will get back if i have installation problems, hope doing this in the easter.
