Just installed a new remote start in my 2005 Equinox with a IB-PLXR BYPASS and the car remote started a few times then just went dead. Wont start or do anything, even with the key. I double checked everything and the only thing that I can think of is that the brown wire in the plxr was connected before i programed the plxr unit. Could this be my problem? The other thing is that the passlock light on the dash stays on when the car is trying to remote start. I can hear the chimes in the car and the remote start attempts to start the engine but the car actually does nothing.
When I use the oem remote to unlock the car, the car starts and the passlock light turns off.

I have read on the 12volt this issue coming up. 9 times out of 10 it's an ign. fuse. a tiny one. like 3 amps.

Unplug the bypass so you can at least get the car to start with the key!

I have checked the fuse and it looks fine. I actually reprogrammed the bypass with the brown wire disconnected then after reprogramming I reconnected it. The car remote starts fine now and everything works perfect but the passlock light continues to stay on. I'll standby and see what happens.
The car works perfectly when using the oem remote and everything connected(i.e. the remote start unit and bypass)

Make sure that you have the Brown accessory wire hooked up and is powered like an accessory wire (drops out during crank). When you program the module, make sure you have the transmission in drive and turn and HOLD the key while programming unit.

Figured it out. The bypass was bad swapped out for a newer PLJX and took care of everything.

Ok had the 2005 Equinox running like a champ and then all of a sudden yesterday the remote would not work. The locks work fine. I have a crimestopper 1304dpII with a PLJX bypass. The only thing I see is that the passlock light is coming on and off and then the car does nothing. The doors lock everything works fine but the car does not start.
Any help will be appreciated

The car starts normally.

Use a volt meter to confirm that the remote starter is putting out ignition power and that the PLJX is also receiving it. Make sure that the Brown accessory wire has 12 volts before and after cranking with the remote starter. It cannot have power during the crank cycle, otherwise the starter won't crank. Check that the hoodpin and brake circuits are working correctly.
