One thing I don't understand is why do they put a glass sensor when there is shock sensor? whats the difference in does? if hit the car the alarm turns on of shock sensor, isn't it the same thing as hitting the window? thnx

The glass break sensor basically listens for the high freqeuncy that breaking glass makes. Shock sensors are made to pick up impact, since the glass is usually not mounted securely to the body of the car the shock sensor will not always pick up a window being broke out, usually if it does then it also falses alot. In my opinion I would prefer a glass break sensor over a shock sensor.

Shock sensors tend to have a higher rate of false alarms. If a large truck passes the parked car it can set it off. I disconnected mine because of that reason. I only use a glass sensor and a motion sensor. Although the motion sensor has it's share of false alarms too.
