I could use some help on this if you could. 2001 Chevy s10. I had a DEI Valet 562T installed by a shop about a year and a half ago. Worked great,I use it every day. This week I turned it off using the toggle switch because I was having the truck serviced. The only thing that the shop did was to install a cap and rotor. After turning the remote start back on it now does not start the truck.. The starter cranks it over for a short time but it does not start. Every thing else works as it should. Any ideas?
Sounds like the shop may have disconnected your tachometer reference wire. Take a look for a PURPLE / white wire coming from the 562T it may have been connected to a white wire at the distributor?

Installer, IT support, and FFL. I need less hobbies.
I do not see any wires that ever were going to the distributor.
You would have to check a few things in this case. first look on the drivers side under hood firewall.look for a PURPLE / white coming out to from inside sometimes you will have a few wires sometimes.if there is gray that would be hood pin. it will be raped with black tape. trace this wire back to where it is going. sometimes you will find that it is disconnected from the car side white wire. look for signs of wire taps by ecm. soldering would be that best way for me. second is this can have a bypass mod by dei a little black box that would be under the drivers side dash. this would say 555l or 555lw this mod box can get glitched and stop working. this has happened when disconnecting the battery for service. the best thing to do is drop the dash and look for this black box. unplug it. then plug it back in.turn key on and start car. this will reprogram this bypass box. now try to remote start now. the last thing is this may not have the purple wire hooked up you can be in tackless mod you can lose program. this remote starter would have to be reprogrammed as that day it was new. please check your program book. hope this helps
