Greetings all.  I love this site for all of the great tech info.  Up til now, I've always found the answers that I've needed.

2001 Ford Escape 3.0L V6

remote start/ alarm AGA1201

Imobilizer bypass (Keyless)

I have everything wired up and working with the following exception.

During the remote start, it starts, then shuts off after 5 seconds or so.  I originally had a weak tach signal .2-.6 vac, I probed around and found a 1.6idle- 5.5 5000rpm.  Verified the same volts at the alarm module connector.

Heres the weird part.

All is well if I hold the rpms above 1500 after the RS starts the enging.  If I let it fall below 1000rpm, it will shut down, and go into its usual resart sequence.

The engine runs fine otherwise, and all wires have been checked against the install instructions, wiring from 12v.com, and some sheets that my buddy at an install house got for me.  He can't make heads or tails out of it either.

The bad.......this alarm does not have tach learning or voltage sense that I can see.

Any help is appreciated.

My thinking is a cheap tach sense in the alarm module, and I may never solve this without going to a better brand system.

Mike

Oh, I also tried all of the usual suspects like the pcm tach lead, FI wire, and COP wire for the tach signal.  The one I found has better volts and range.

i have the exact same car and I went right to the injector and I have no problems since I installed it. It does sound like it could be the unit itself.

I would check ground for it being not good place.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya
