I recently installed a viper 160xv into a 94 toyota camary.

For me, the R/S start worked fine, and the doors unlocked fine.  The owner of the car came back and said it only unlocks with the remote start running.  She never has a problem with the R/S and says it starts like a charm everytime.  She also said the the blue LED light is always on constant, not flashing.  It goes off when the car is started, but when off, it is lit up solid blue.

I don't have the programming manual in front of me, but does anyone have an idea of what the problem may be?  Or do you think the LED constantly on has something to do with the unlocking?

Unlock should be lt. GREEN/ red in the passenger kick... did you maybe tag it in the driver's kick instead?

The LED sounds like its in valet mode... open door, press lock-unlock-lock... and it should enter/exit valet mode. Won't really make a difference in functionality unless you have horn honk hooked up.

You have to go to the passengers kickpanel. If you get it from the drivers door every time you lock the door with the switch on the drivers door and get out the doors won't unlock.

The light is on solid because the alarm is on valet mode...

Camry only has one A.

Regardless of where you get the unlock wire, it must be the wire that tests by turning the key in the door from the outside, not from the rocker switch on the door panel.

The wire in the driver's kick panel, which tests off the driver's key cylinder, will work fine if you program your unit for double pulse.

The wire from the passenger kick panel, which should test by turning the key in the passenger door, will work fine with only a single pulse.

The passenger-kick wire should also be available at the driver's fuse box, although you might need a helper to turn the key in the door for you while you test the wire.

I have always loved trying to turn a key in a door with your head on the brake pedal!posted_image
