I bought a 2005 F-250 diesel about a month ago.  I found it has a Viper 791xv system installed.  I didn't get a remote for it, so I bought one and had a Viper Dealer look at the system to find out what the Valet button was set to, and while there they programmed the remote.  Ever since then, which was about 2 weeks ago, the door chime goes off randomly, and when I shut the truck off, the heater fan still operates, and the glow plug heater cycles periodically.  This is while the key is out and door is open.  I don't know who oringinally installed this system, but I know something isn't right.  Although the install does look professional-like.  The wiring is all neatly done.  I have a DMM, so can anyone tell me which wires I should check for wrong hookup?  So basically I have 3 issues: randon door chime, heater fan runs when off, glow plug heater cycles when off.  Please help me.

OK, I've been searching the forum today and decided to check the relay for the 2nd ACC wire.  Here is how mine is wired: 86-Ground; 87-12V; 85-Ignition #2; 30-Acc #1.

When I searched, I found that it should be like this: 86-Acc#1; 85-Ground; 30-Acc #2; 87-12v.  Could this be my problem with the blower fan continuing to stay on after shutdown?  I had my main (2) 12v wires disconnected after all this has happened to keep my batteries from draining.  Today, I hooked them back up to power the system, and the blower fan was working normal (no power).  Then I turned the key to Acc to roll the window down and when I shut the key off, the fan was doing the same symptom as before.   So I unplugged the 12v wires again.  I'm stumped if it isn't the relay being wired wrong.  I guess I'll have to shell out $60/hr to let a Viper dealer look at it.

is this happening with the key or during remote start?

Well, the only times I have noticed it doing it was when the truck was started with the key.  Tonight, I noticed my brake lights were on.  I shook some wires under the dash and got them to go off.  It was dark outside, so I didn't go through everything to see what was causing it.  Apparently, whoever installed this kit didn't put any pride into it.  I'm almost to the point now to rip the whole kit out and forget it.  I don't want the truck's wiring to be all jacked up because of the kit.  I don't really need an alarm, although the remote start might be handy sometimes.  I hate to pay a few hundred dollars to just get it straightened out.
