I just installed an Astrostart remote starter on an 06 Tundra Quad Cab. I used the 1070 document and wired the locks in the passenger door. Now the locks are exhibiting some strange behaviour. When the keys are in the ignition, any time you close the passenger door, the doors lock twice. Also, I can no longer control the locks with the key in the passenger door. I used to be able to lock and unlock with the key. Now the passenger door locks mechanically but there are no electric lock/unlock functions from the passenger key lock. Any ideas what is causing this behaviour?

Did you connect your key sence? Are your problems after you remote start, or all of the time?

I know that Toyota transmitters don't work while the cars are running, maybe Chris Luongo will chime in here to clarify it a bit.

How did you place your diodes? Are they in the correct position? Describe how you did your coonnections on the lock harness.

Hey KarTuneMan,
Key sense is connected to disarm the factory alarm. The wiring is exactly as the 1070 document shows, and done in the passenger door. This behaviour is exhibited all the time, regardless of how the truck was started (or if it is running at all). As long as the keys are in the ignition, the locks double pulse unlock whenever the passenger door is pulled shut. I think maybe something to do with Toy's system to keep you from locking your keys inside. I noticed that with the keys in the ignition, if I flip the driver door lock button to lock, there is a double unlock pulse sent to reopen it as well. Seems like they may be related. No idea why I have no electric lock control from the outside passenger key lock. Do I need to pull all this wiring out and try the Toydl module instead?

yes... i have had to troubleshoot other Toyotas that people have done this on... all kinds of problems occur, usually battery drain problems.....i always use a TOYDL myself.. on 07 you dont need it

TOYDL will hook up in about 5 minutes also...
