Hello, I just purchased a remote starter for my girlfriend's '01 Windstar. I have the wiring diagram from Directed Electronics and it says that a SecuriLock bypass module Part # 1100F is required to get the van to start. I have found this item for sale, but it is not very cheap ($45-$80 +Shipping). Is there an alternative brand/model someone can recommend that I can pick up for less to get this up and running? Thanks!

check out pieces from Fortin, Idatalink, Bypasskits.com. DEI bypasses should be fairly cheep.

Fortin - PATS 1 or PATS 3 are the cheaper ones. you can buy the KEY-OVERRIDE-SL2 for less since its discontinued but some dealers still have this part.

iDatalink - TBSL FM

Bypasskits - XK01 FODL 1.00 or the updated version is the XK03 flashed with PKFORD 3.00

Thanks for the tips. I ended up just finding a DEI 556U for $18 shipped, so I'll give it a try and see how it goes. Thanks again!

I am assuming that you are aware that you lose a key with the 556U? and you do not with the other data bypasses

You get what you pay for ! Did you also know that Ford chipped keys freeze in very cold weather ?

i would suggest spend the extra 20 - 30 and get a data bypass. that way no keys freeze up,  or change in resistance if you used a resistor to bypass. .
