Using a Viper 5900 in my 01 Grand Cherokee. I wired up the purple starter output wire AND the Green starter input both into the starter wire in my main harness near the key. Is this correct?

Don't forget to cut the starter wire between those two.

Oh so I would just cut the starter wire in two and have the purple on one side and the green wire on the other? Which is what they meant by starter and key side?

I didnt see any diagrams for it. I was under the impression I was to connect both wires together to the starter wire. But now I understand and it makes sense, lol.  I appretiate your help, thanks alot.

Also will, make sure the purple is going toward the starter motor and the green is towards the ignition switch...otherwise the remote start won't work.
